Economic Development: We have broad experience in serving private businesses with respect to all aspects of structuring, securing, implementing and maintaining federal, state and local economic development incentives. These capabilities have helped our firm to develop one of the largest economic development incentives practices in Ohio.  Our clients have benefitted by our ability to design cutting-edge economic development incentives and to influence state and local policy concerning emerging economic development incentives issues.  Many of our clients are expanding businesses, each of which has specialized needs in the area of economic development incentives.  Our professionals have the experience and capability to respond to these specialized needs to structure creative and beneficial solutions for all types and sizes of clients.

Real Estate Finance: We also represent lenders, developers and investors in many different types of real estate financing transactions.  These include conventional mortgage financing, including Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) loan programs; insured mortgage programs, such as those sponsored by HUD and the FHA; industrial revenue and development bonds; public and private syndications; and, sale-leasebacks.  Our real estate attorneys also have extensive experience working with real estate joint ventures and syndications.

Foreclosure: Vorys lawyers offer our clients significant experience in even the most complicated foreclosure, restructuring and workout matters involving commercial properties.  We have spearheaded foreclosures, restructurings and workouts of mortgages involving office buildings, motels, restaurants, health and recreation facilities, farms, multiple unit apartment buildings, large apartment complexes, manufacturing facilities and other commercial properties.  Our work in this area has included the appointment of receivers and the transfer of operations and management following the sale.
